Super Fast Broadband Programme Print

As part of the Superfast West Yorkshire & York Broadband Programme, fibre-optic broadband is now available from Cabinet 18 located at  the junction of Clifton Road and Wheatley Road, Ilkley LS29 8TD. This cabinet is attached to the Ilkley Exchange and went live on the 10 October and is customer ready for service.     

Residents can now upgrade to a fibre optic broadband service by contacting an Internet Service Provider (ISP) of their choice, the upgrade is not automatic.

The programme is funded by Local Authorities (Calderdale, Bradford, Kirklees, Leeds, Wakefield and York), West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA), BT, BDUK (part of the Department for Culture, Media and Sport – Superfast Extension Programme) and has secured £6.89m funding from the European Regional Development Fund 2014-2020 England Operational Programme.

Residents can follow two easy steps to upgrade to fibre broadband...

Step 1:  Check if you can upgrade

They’ll need to upgrade to benefit from faster broadband speeds. One postcode could be served by 2 or more cabinets so it is important to check if you can upgrade by telephone number, and address, not just postcode which is less accurate.  

Step 2:  Find the best deal for you
